DEATH
TAUMARUNUI. — Te Wainui-a-Rua Taumata Poihipi, prominent Maori chief, reputed to be 103 years of age, hAs died. \ He possessed a great store of knowledge of Maori song, tradition, customs and genealogy. Mr Poihipi was an elder of the Presbyterian Maori irtission. He was a keen follower of Rugby football. * • •
