NEW YORK. Eight war veterans announced in Chicago today that they had formed an organisation called “Veterans Against MacArthur.” The spokesman said the opposition was due to “MacArthur’s general aloofness from the people, his use of violence ■>in halting the veterans’ march in Washington in 1932. his censorship of the Press in Japan, and evidence of his anti-democratic leanings.” Only two of the organisers served under General MacArthur. The committee adopted as a slogan: “Give him a medal but not the White House.”
