Cope York Unloading Approaches Conclusion
The end of the job on the Cape York at Port Whangarci is in view.
With one hold emptied today, and little phosphate left in a second hold, it is expected that the ship will complete discharge early next week. Conditions in the holds may slow the work.
A labour call was made for the Ranginui this morning, and a gang comprising mostly non-union labour commenced discharge on the vessel at the Town Wharf.
Six more men could have been used when the call was made, but a full gang worked from mid-day when men from one completed hold on the Cape York, arrived from Port Whangarei.^
