£IOO,OOO Bequest For Cripples’ Home
AUCKLAND, Thu. (Sp.).—A bequest under the will of Mr H. S. Dadley, of Auckland, whose estate was valued at about £IOO,OOO at the time of his death in 1933, has now become available in the form of a trust fund to provide a home for crippled children in Auckland.
This was announced yesterday by the Public Trust Office, following the death of Mr Dadley’s widow, Mrs E. E. Dadley, on Tuesday. After providing for various bequests, Mr Dadley's will directed that the residue of his estate should be set aside, upon the death of his widow, as an endowment fund for the establishment and maintenance of a home for crippled children. An executive committee was appointed to administer the endowment fund.
It is to consist of the Mayor of Auckland, the Anglican Bishop of Auckland and the chairman of the Church of England Orphans’ Home Trust Board, Auckland. The exact sum that will be available was not known yesterday by the Public Trust Office.
It was stated, however, that it would be substantial.
