Rugby Clubs Preparing \
Enthusiasm marked the annual ! meeting of the Mid-Western Rugby! Club held last night.
Teams are to be entered in the Whangarel Rugby Union's senior, junior and third grades. Mr T. O'CarroU was again elected patron of the club. He lias been associated with Maungakaramea and Mid-Western football for over 50 years.
A new departure was taken in the election of the committee this year, all officers being active players.
Officers are: Patron. Mr T. O'Carroll; president, Mr Bain Finlayson; vice-presidents, Messrs F. O’Shea, G. Hayward, W. Ormandy, T. Snell, E. Gunson, A. S. McCullough, B. Babe. A. Crawford, S. Crawford, M. Gunson, A. Hayward, J. Woolhouse, C. Child and N. Fraser; secretary-treasurer, Mr J. Sturmfels; committee, Messrs K. Babe, P. Russek, A. Conn, L. Gulbransen, T. Crawford, and president and secretary. Messrs B. Finlayson and G. Hayward were elected delegates to the Whangarei Rugby Union, and Mr Stirl Crawford is to act as club coach. The senior selector is Mr P. Russek. The juniors will be selected by Mr S. Hayward, and Mr J. Woolhouse will act in the same capacity for the third grade. HIKURANGI /
The annual general meeting of the Kikurangi Rugby Football Club drew a good attendance. It was decided to enter one team in each of the following Whangarei Rugby Union competitions: Senior, junior, third, fifth and sixth grades.

The Hukerenui Rugby Club expects to field teams in the Whangarei senior reserve and junior competitions this season.
There were 40 enthusiasts at the annual meeting, a fact truly indicative of the progress the game is making in the district. Last season Hukerenui had a team in the junior grade and was represented in the third grade after the first round had been completed.
