State Subsidy For Willow Clearing
The Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council has approved the 'granting of a subsidy on willow clearing in the Kikowhiti stream. Mareretu. 1 This is stated in a letter received by the member for Marsdcn (Mr A: J. Murdoch) from the acting Minister of Works (Mr Skinner). Mr Skinner stated that the Government will contribute for willow removal up to the sum of £3339, if the settlers and the county made a composite contribution of not less than one quarter of the total cost. Work will commence as soon as the local contribution has been made. >
