Tennis Competitions Resume Tomorrow
Play in me Whangarei Lawn Tennis Sub-Association’s inter-club competitions will continue on Saturday. The competitions were to have concluded this week, but, owing to unfavourable weather, several games have been held over until the end of the draw.
GAMES OUTSTANDING The following games, held over from earlier in the draw, will now he played on Saturday, January 24: B Grade.— Whangarei v Bargain Stores, at Whangarei; Manders Park v. Matarau, at Manders Park; Mairtown v. Onerahi, at Mairtown; Mangapai v. Maunu, at Maunu. C Grade. —Whangarei v. Matarau, at Matarau; High School v. G'nerahi, at High School; Bargain Stores v. Stanley Street, at Stanley Street. The following additional games are to be played by mutual arrangement between the clubs concerned, early in February : E Grade. —Whangarei v. Matarau, at Whangarei; Mairtown v. Manders Park, at Manders Park. C Grade. —Whangarei v. Mairtown, at Whangarei; Onerahi v. Stanley Street, at Stanley Street. COUNTRY COMPETITION Houto has won the northern zone, having come through undefeated. Parakao suffered'one loss, Pakotai two, and Titoki. three. Whatitiri and Maungakaramea are equal on points in the southern zone, with Whatitiri still to play Maungatapere. The winner of this section will meet Houto in the final.
