40,000 Bales For Wool Auction
AUCKLAND, Thu. <Sp.).—A record catalogue of 4Q.000 bales will be offered at the first wool sale in- the North Island, at Auckland, after the Christmas recess. Selling wil extend over two days, Monday and Thursday. Wool came in so freely as a result of good shearing weather that the catalogue for the auction, in spite of the size of the offering, was closed in the middle of December. The experiment of splitting sales over two days is being initiated in Auckland and will be followed at Napier, Wanganui and Wellington. It is hoped that the interval between the two selling days will obviate tire difficulties which arose in the previous season as a result of the unusually large catalogues the wool stores were called upon to handle.
