ORDEAL
NAPIER: Suffering a broken leg and other injuries when he was crushed by a falling tree at 9 o’clock yesterday morning at Pohukura, about 60 miles north of Napier on the Taupo road, £ mill worker,, Mr John Clapperton, did not reach the Napier Hospital until 4.30 p.m. Mr Clapperton was taken to the main road in a truck. From there ’he wV taken by a private rar, whi»h broke down.
There was a long wait for a service car in which the journey was cdhtinued* and the final stage was by a St John ambulance. (P.A.)
