The Hamilton City electrical engineer (Mr I. Webster) said yesterday that rationing would be the only alternative unless greater care is exercised in the use of electricity. Domestic power consumers have been asked to switch off water heaters between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. daily, while commercial consumers have been asked to reduce their consumption by 10 per cent. Karapiro Generator HAMILTON, Tue. (Sp.)—The work of assembling the heavy machinery for the third generator at the Karapiro state hydro-electric station is well ahead of schedule.
