Olympic Games; Travel Problems
WELLINGTON, Tue. (P.A.).—“All care but no responsibility," the liar travel proviso, would appear to apply aptly to those people who intend to visit London this year for the Olympic Games. To ensure that they will have no difficulty over seats for the Games these intending to travel are advised to obtain tickets from the secretary of the New Zealand Olympic Games Association (Mr H. Amos), Wellington. The tickets range in price from £2 to 5/- according to the nature and location of the events. A specific allocation has been made for New Zealand visitors and here, the care for those proposing to travel appears to end. MAY EMBARRASS TEAM The transport position is still so complex that no responsibility can be accepted that travellers will find quick pieans of returning home. The High Commissioner for New Zealand in London (Mr Jordan) and the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) have repeated the previous warnings about the difficulties that may arise. The transport situation could even cause embarrassment for the Olympic team itself. Accommodation has been arranged for the competitors from a fortnight before the Games until a week after. No guarantee is possible at the moment regarding transport bade to New Zealand, although it is presumed that the Government will watch the position closely.
