Enforcement
The United Nations would use “every necessary power’’ to enforce the Palestine partition, the secretarygeneral (Mr Trygve Lie) told the Palestine Commission today. Mr Lie, who was addressing the commission’s first session, declared thgt the Security Council would assume its full measure cf responsibility in implementing partition. M. Karel Lsicky (Czechoslovakia), the chairman of th& commission, replied that the United Nations “could not expect miracles from five lonely pilgrims, who, for the moment have nothing but the mere flag of the United Nations to help them enforce partition.” The commission will meet again tomorrow.
