Severe Bite From 6in. Long Weta
AUCKLAND, Sat. (Sp.l— As a result of a bite from a large wela, Mr C. Mercer, of 8 ila.na Road. Point Chevalier, had to undergo treatment at the Auckland Hospital yesterday. Mr Mercer was in a small shed at the back of his home when the weta fastened on his hand. Unable to shake it off, he called a neighbour to his assistance, and they had to prise it loose with a chisel. The insect was about six inches in length.
