N.Z. Chess Tourney
DUNEDIN, Thu. (P.A.).— I The New Zealand chess championship of 1947--18 was won by R. G. Wade, of Wellington, by a margin c-f 2£ points over his nearest opponents when the congress was concluded in Dunedin on Saturday. N. S. Henderson (Wellington) won the major open tournament. S J. Webb (Dunedin) was winner of the first-class tournament, and A. S. Hollander (Christchurch) won the sec-ond-class tournament.
