Western Germon State Discussed
LONDON. Tue. (11 a.m.)—The possible creation of a Western German state was discussed yesterday by the British Minister in charge of German and Austrian Affairs (Lord Pakenham) and German political leaders in the British zone according to the Daily Telegraph. A representative of the German Social Democratic Party emphasised that no party in Germany would favour a western state which set up a permanent barrier between eastern and western Germany. . Lord Pakenham insisted that the present position was untenable.
