Filin lay Decide Appeal By Marshall
Auckland Cup
AUCKLAND, Tue. (P.A.)—A technicclour film of the finish of the Auckland Cup, main event at the Auckland Racing Club's meeting on Boxing Day. when Howe, who was first past the post, was relegated to third place after a stewards’ inquiry, may be used to decide if an alteration in the placings is justified. It is understood that a private photographer filmed the race with a movie camera from the time the horses entered the straight. The film was taken head-on as the horses approached the post. The film was flown to Australia for processing and will be returned with equal urgency. An appeal by Mr J. H. Marshall, owner of Howe, against the stewards decision will be heard by the district racing committee this afternoon. Mr Marshall hoped to produce the film of the finish at a later date.
