BOAC Loss Heavy Load Far Taxpayer
LONDON, Mon. (11 a.m.)—The BOAC report covering the year ended March 31, 1847 says the taxpayer must regard the year’s deficit of £3.076,844 as a considerable burden, but heavy deficits would inevitably continue until the corporation had standardised aircraft of two or three main types and other improved facilities. Receipts with the present aircraft barely covered operating costs. The report added, however, that the commercial characte> of the service must often be subordinate to the national interest.
