Lost Yacht For Hobort Safe
HOBART, Mon. (1 p.m.)—Now that the Tasmanian yacht Wanderer is reported safe, all participants in the Sydney-Hobart yacht race are accounted for.
Wanderer, which has abandoned the race and is expected to reach its home port of Launceston today, reports battling a 70-mile-an-hour gale in Bass Strait for 37 hours. A decision to abandon the race was then made and the motor was started up, but it broke down soon afterwards. The last vessel to complete the course was the smallest entrant, the 31ft cutter Aloha.
