Robe rtson—Ande rson Lilies and white and mauve watsonins decorated St Francis Xavier's Church, Whangarei, for the wedding of Patricia, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. W. Anderson, Portland, and John, son of Mr and Mrs G. R. Robertson, of Warkworth. The Rev. Father O’Connor officiated. During the signing of the register. Father Hannah sang "Ave Maria." The organist was Miss Jocelyn Franklin. The bride, who entered the church accompanied by her father, wore a beautiful white gown of embroidered pure silk made in period design with an off-the-shoulder net yoke, bordered with tiny flowers, the centres being picked out in tiny pearls. The flowers also bordered the long waist of 1 lie gown. The back featured a bustle, and the centre panel fell into a long train. Her voluminous, fingertip-length veil of uncut tulle fell from a silver halo and she carried a posy of white roses and stock. The “something borrowed” was a beautiful gold pendant, set with pearls and rubies. Bridesmaids, Joan, sister of the bride, Marie Wilson and Margaret, sister of the groom, were dressed alike in frocks of palest blue waterwave moire tafTeta, embossed with ’ a . lily-of-the-valley design. They were similar in design to the bride’s gown, having lace ofT-the-shoulder yokes and long' wa.ists bordered with feathery ruching. The backs of the fully gathered skirts featured bustles and were slightly trained. Sprays of palest mauve and pink carnations, delphiniums and roses trimmed their lace bonnets and they carried silverbacked posies of the same flowers. Mr Hugh Robertson, brother of the groom, was best man, and the groomsmen were Messrs Wes. Kelsall and T. Pascoe. The ushers were Messrs Colin Anderson and Arthur Colville. The reception was held at the Warrington Studios. The bride’s mother wore a model frock of deep cyclamen silk crepe with navy accessories, and she wore a shoulder spray of delphiniums and irises. The bridegroom’s mother wore a smart navy and white suit with navy accessories .and a spray of carnations. Mr and Mrs Corden, grandparents of the bride, were present, Mrs Corden wearing a navy ensemble with a shoulder spray of pink carnations.

The bride left for her honeymoon in a mustard suit with smart black hat and accessories, and she carried an off-white coat.
