Heavy Rain Affects N.S. Wales Wheat
SYDNEY. Wed. <1 p.m.) More heavy rain over New South Wales has caused road and rail washouts and has delayed aircraft. It is daily increasing damage to the record New South Wales wheat crop. Big areas of wheat, green and golden a few days ago, are now black with rust. Although the state harvest was originally estimated at 120,000,000 bushels, it is not expected to fall much below 115,000.000. Continued rain is seriously affecting quality as well as spreading rust. Experts believe that a large proportion of the wheat crop will now produce grain below standard.
