Reds Called Strike; Members Ignored
SYDNEY, Wed. (11.30 a.m.) —Charges that the wool clerks' strike had been called by the Communist controllers cl’ the Federated Clerks' Union without consulting members were made by a number of tally clerks. One said the first intimation that the tally clerks had of the dispute was when officials of the union announced in the Press that the clerks would cease handling wool.
The clerks were emphatic that new ther members nor executive of the shipping section of the clerks’ union were consulted about the strike. Payments to graziers of £15,000,000 for the sale of wool have been held up by the dispute.
