Coal For 250 Years From Kaitangata
DUNEDIN, Sat. (P.A.)—The presence of a large field of high-grade coal is expected to be proved on the Kaitangata Coal Coy’s property. South Otago, after the second of two bores has been sunk to a planned depth. The first bore already has revealed deep seams, guaranteeing 15.000,000 tons. Discovery of the field is considered to be of major importance to the future of the mining industry in Otago, as investigations indicate that the field will produce coal for possibly the next 250 years.
