Warner Bros.’ Dramatic Sensation ANN SHERIDAN ANN SHERIDAN ANN SHERIDAN “NORA PRENTISS” “NORA PRENTISS” “NORA PRENTISS” with Kent Smith Bruce Bennett Robert Alda.*— Rosemary De Camp THIS IS THE STORY ANN SHERIDAN has the role of a night club singer who falls in love with an already married doctor, just when she felt that she had become too cynical about life in general, and men in particular, to believe in anything, or anybody. Dr. Talbot (played by Kent Smith) lives a dull, routine life with his nagging wife. Lucy (Rosemary De Camp) and their two children. While Lucy and the youngsters are away for a week-end, Richard visits Nora, who is a patient of his, at the night club where she works. They are instantly attracted to each other, and soon begin to spend a good deal of time together, secretly, until Nora realises that they can’t continue their clandestine relationship and be happy. When Nora decides to leave for a singing job in New York, he becomes frantic and commits a strange deed whereby he changes his identity and can accompany Nora to New York. Plagued with the fear of discovery, Richard’s whole personality changes, until at last his terrible secret is distorted and the film moves on to a surprisingly ironic climax. (Prog.
