Motorists Feel Pinch Of Petrol Cut
WELLINGTON, Mon. (P.A.)—lmplications of the 10 per cent petrol cut are beginning to be felt in Wellington. Some motorists were unable to obtain petrol for week-end running on Friday evening because petrol station proprietors had to call a halt in order to eke out supplies, taking many motorists by surprise. “We had to - turn away dozens of people," said one man. “There were motorists who cgme storming at my door while I was trying to balance up the cash.
“I did not want any Donnybrook, so I got out.” This man thought there might be a reduction in some of the commercial vehicles in service by next month.
“If the Government does not give us back our id a gallon we will be out of business,” he concluded.
