Defeat Of J. A. Barry
AUCKLAND, Mon. (Sp.)— J. A. Barry, the New Zealand Davis Cup tennis player, was defeated in his first public appearance since his recent return from England in an inter-club match at Stanley Street on Saturday. Playing No. 1 for the Parnell team he lost 6—3, 6—o to W. T. Pountncy, of Campbell Park. Barry had only had two practice games since his return and was obviously not in his best form. Pountney. on the other hand, played splendidly.
