Seek Policy On Clothing Coupons
WELLINGTON, Wed. (P.A.).—Clarification of the Government’s policy on the continuance of clothes rationing is to be sought by'the New Zealand Retailers’ Federation. The council of the federation has decided to ask the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Nordmeyer) to make a statement on the matter. Mr G. L. Ri?ey, secretary of the federation, said that in view of the fact that clothing coupons . were not included in the new ration books, traders and public alike were concerned to know what the actual position was.
The federation felt that the Government should clarify the situation.
