Britain To Seek New Food Sources
LONDON, Fri.—The Government regards the new calory figure as being too low and every effort will be made to- raise it by substituting food from other than dollar sources, says the Parliamentary correspondent of The Times.
Even if the same kind of foodstuffs cannot be obtained it may be possible to increase the total supplies so as to go some way toward making up the calory loss. A trade agreement' with Russia would be helpful, says the correspondent, and if Russia .will consent negotiations for an agreement will be resumed.
It is also proposed to reopen negotiations with Denmark and more meat may be obtainable from Eire.
