Rescind Injunction Against NZ Council
BOXING
(P.AJ WELLINGTON, This Day. The Court of'Appeal, in a reserved judgment, has rescinded an injunction granted by Mr Justice Christie to restrain the New Zealand Boxing Council from suspending Bos Murphy’s boxing license, and dismissed an application for a permanent injunction. The judgment said Murphy had received notice to attend a meeting of the council when it considered whether his license would not be cancelled. This was improperly not disclosed to the court, which, it was presumed, would not have issued an interim injunction if it had been informed of the circumstances. The decision added that the license was suspended by the council, and no injunction should be issued to restrain the council from exercising the power of withdrawal expressly reserved to it.
