Maungatapere
Mrs T. P. Chaplin presided over the August meeting of the Maungatapere Women's Institute, welcoming seven new members. Mrs Bruce Jbnes demonstrated rug making and Mrs J. Logan arranged a sand nosy and a decorated bowl, the visitors being thanked for their demonstrations. Competition winners were: Marmalade, Mrs T. P. Chaplin and Mrs H. Grace equal 1, Mrs H. Mooney and Mrs G. Kerr equal 2. Pikelets, Mrs H. Cliff 1, Mrs N. Philips 2. The hostesses were Mesdames J. Stevenson, B. Bradley and H. Peterson.
