No Firemen On Duty
(Rec. 11.20 a.m.) PARIS, Sept. 1. Three experts appointed by the Versailles investigating magistrate began an inquiry into the fire at the cinema jn the suburb of Rueil on August 31 when 92 perished and 200 were injured. The magistrate said the manager had been guilty of gross negligence by breaches of the fire regulati'ons and failure to have a fireman on duty. HIGH SCORING.—Sussex declared its first inning closed with 5 down for 415. South Africa in its first filings lost six for 555 (Viljoen 201, Harris 71, uyer 54, Melville 114).
