increased Entries At Kaitaia Flower Show

(Special) KAITAIA. This Day. Entries well above last year's figure made the annual spring show of the Kaitaia Presbyterian Daffodil Society in the Church Hall on Friday among the most successful yet. This was despite the fact that the fixture was arranged for a date subsequently found to be rather early for most daffodil exhibitors, other spring blooms making a colourful display. The usual excellent arrangements were carried out by the society under the direction of Mrs A. W. Bird in the absence of the president (Mrs W. Geard). Several stalls were, wellpatronised and both luncheon ana afternoon tea were served. POINTS PRIZE WINNERS Special prize-winners were: Most points, daffodil section.—Mr J. H. Blackman; champion, open daffodil. —J. H. Blackman; amateur —Mrs J. Knox; most points, freezias and spring flowers. —Mrs L. Shalders; champion freezia. —Mrs G. C. Wilson; champion bloom, bulbs and spring flowers. -Mrs H. Foley. Judges were:—Daffodils and freezias, Mr and Mrs F. Bloomfield; spring flowers, Mesdames W. Flinn and D. Jameson; decorative and children’s sections, Mr L. S. Morpeth. Results:—
