Voting In Hungary

(Rcc. 10.0 a.m.) BUDAPEST. Aug. 31. Voting began in Hungary’s general election at 12,000 polling stations. The Communist Party reported three men killed in election fights with peasants in Somogy County. The three opposition parties alleged that the Communists organised largescale “multiple’' voting throughout Hungary. Social Democrat officials said 300 people, travelling by motor coach and with travellers’ voting cards, voted at four or five villages. Local police arrested five, but the state political police released them. Independent Democratic Party officials said one Communist was caught carrying 150 voting cards. Communist headquarters in Budapest claimed that members of the Social Democratic and Smallholders parties were doing the same. The Communist Party issued reports of election results tonight, nearly all showing overwhelming Communist majorities.
