21st Birthday Party
A happy gathering assembled at the Friendly Society's Hall on Friday, evening, when some 60 friends weie present at the invitation of Mr and Mrs E Alderton, Mains Avenue, on the occasion of the 21st birthday of thendaughter, Lola. A beautiful array of presents testified to the popularity of Miss Alderton, who, amid musical honours, was presented with the traditional golden key, by her father, who also announced Lola's engagement to Mr F. Burrell, oi Umukuri. Motucka. Mr Burrell thanked the guests lor tiie good wishes yvhich followed the announcement. A beautifully decorated cake was cut by t'ne guest of honour to the accompaniment of prolonged cheoi mg. Darrin"- to music supplied by Messrs P. Hooson and D. Braftin. interspersed with vocal items, was an enjoyable part of a very pleasant evening.
