NEWS OF THE DAY
WOMEN’S WHIMSIES
Something new was added at the combined civil services ball at the Whangarei Town Hall last night. The addition was by way of a decoration — not to the stage or the ceiling or the wall, not to the instruments of the band or the programme, but to the fashion of women’s gowns. The whimsies of women’s attire never fail to produce something different and something new, and this was fully borne out at last night’s bail. It was noticed that one of the dancers had pinned or somehow secured to the bustle of her gown a bunch of spring flowers.
Henry Wilson's showing in Cretonnes, Tapestries, Curtain Nets, Repps, etc., is arousing considerable attention. The goods are the very latest in design and colouring. 36in. Fancywork Linen ,in ecru and white has also just opened
