Whangarei F.F. To Carry On
A suggestion was made by the president (Mr A. G. Agnew) today that, as the meeting of the Whangarei branch of Federated Farmers were not well attended, the branch should be wound up and new branches formed in the outlying districts. Mr H. M. May said he thought it was a little early to talk of winding up the branch. An organiser had arrived in the district and the question should be held over until new members were signed on. The organiser. (Mr A. Murphy) said that the problem was not peculiar to the Whangarei branch. Many of the nearby branches had experienced similar trbuble, but since reorganisation, were going strong. Mr A. H. Crane said he agreed with Mr May that it was a little early to talk of winding up. He moved that the branch carry on, at least until the outlook for new members was discovered. Mr Crane’s suggestion was agreed to, the meeting electing a new secretary in Mr H. E. Lilley and reappoint/ed Messrs H. G. Agnew and Lilley, \ with the addition of Mr D. S. Douglas.
