Sea Cadets' Trip
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day Consent has been given an oiUce-i and 12 cadets from the Wellington Sea Cadet Corps to make a trip to Auckland in the light fleet carrier Theseur when she leaves Wellington after a five-day visit. The party will be in charge of Sea Cadet Sub-Lieutenant P. JvL Sanders. The officer commanding the corps said it was not uncommon for sea cadets in Britain to make such trips, but this was the first time provision, had been made for a New Zealand party. The object was to enable cadets to gain further training and experience. British Sea Cadets had been aboard Vanguard on the Royal trip to Africa, which gave him the idea of making a similar arrangement, which nr.d now been approved by the Minister of Defence and the flag officer of the Theseus.
