Old Boys' Rugby Club Jubilee Smoko

The smoke concert which concluded the Old Boys Rugby Club silver jubilee celebrations on Saturday night was one of the most successful such functions held in the district for some time.

The attendance of 133 included old members from Auckland in the south and Kaitaia in the north, wjro made a special trip to Whangarei to be present.

Apologies for non-attendance were received from as far afield as Port Chalmers.

Evidence of the splendid club spirit was also provided by the presence of several members of the 1923 team which was the first Old Boys senior XV. to win the Whangarei championship.

The president (Mr W. F. Berry) was in the chair and the following toasts were honoured.
