Greek Guerillas 'Cut To Pieces"
tßec. 11.30 a.m.) ATHENS. June 13. The Ministry of Public Order has announced that Government forces ambushed and cut to pieces a large force of guerillas between Tripoli's and Plras, killing 45 guerillas and wounding 55 as they were crossing a shallow stream between mountains.
The guerillas had just raided Daphne, 10 miles distant, and were laden with booty. Eight gendarmes were killed and three wounded.
Fifty-two guerillas were killed in a clash with a military contingent at Sotira village. 19 miles north-west of
Grevena. Twenty battalions of the Greek Army, with air and naval support early today launched a new drive against guerillas around Mt Olympus and on the eastern coast of Greece in an attempt to cut off about 30.000 guerillas.
