Italy Admitted To Membership Of ICAO
(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) OTTAWA, May 16. Italy was admitted to the International Civil Aviation Organisation today by 31 votes to 10. The delegates of three of 34 accredited states were absent when, the vote was taken. Italy’s admission was moved by the United States and seconded by Eire. The Peruvian delegation has cabled its resignation to the Peruvian Government because “in voting for the ousting of Spain as a member of ICAO the delegation had not reflected the view of the Peruvian Foreign Office—that it should refrain from voting.”
