The Gazette notifies the appointment of the following to be members of the Local Government Loans Board for three years from April 1. 1947: —Messrs H. M. Christie and J. W. Heenan (Wellington), C. L. Grange (Auckland) and E. Hitchcock (Christchurch). Air John Chivers, an early settler of the Waikato, has cied in Hamilton aged 92. Mr Chivers landed in Christchurch from England 83 years ago. and was employed for a time in the Mackenzie Country before coming to the North Island. He settled in the Waikato in 1884. Mr Chivers is survived by four daughters, 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
