Mail From Japan

Five bags of Japanese civilian mail were carried by the Manoora when she sailed from Kure for Sydney this week.
This was the largest shipment of mail to leave Japan for Australia since 1941.
It consists mostly of correspondence from export traders to businessmen in Australia and Nqw Zealand with whom they did business before the Second World War.
Nearlyq 1000 troops sailed by the Manoora, most of them for demobilisation in Australia. Twenty returning New Zealanders will be transhipped in Sydney.
