Tiie dance held in tiie Waipu Hall , on Easter Saturday to welcome home | W. McL. Palmer, the last of the Waipu I boys to return, was a gay one. The large crowd present included; many visitors from neighbouring districts and some from considerable dis- j tances away. Mr Peat was M.C. The race to have supper served and 1 cleared away before blackout at 11 p.m. resulted in a win for the ladies.' Later dancing continued just as sue-, cessfuly by the light of two benzine 1 storm lanterns. Mr J. C. McKay welcomed Mr Pal- 1 mer home and asked him to accept a i presentation from the district. The j president of the Waipu branch of the 1 RSA (Mr Peati invited him to join j the ranks of that organisation, assur- j ing him of a warm welcome. J:
