Commercial Travellers' Secretary Retires
(Special) AUCKLAND. This Day. Mr W. F. Herrick, of Christchurch, has retired from the position of secretary of the United Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen’s Association after 2ij years' service. Born in Northern Wairoa, Mr Herrick joined the Auckland association in 1902. and was the number one foundation member of the Canterbury association in 1913. and became its first vice-president. He was treasurer of the united’ association from 1916 to 1922. when he became general secretary. Mr Herrick has been a trustee of the association's fund for blinded servicemen since 1922.
A former Rugby footballer, Mr Herrick is a keen bowler and lias represented Canterbury against Otago and Wellington. He will continue to reside in Christchurch. Mr Herrick’s assistant, Mr D. M. Thomson, of Christchurch, was appointed general secretary by the annual conference of the association which met in Auckland yesterday.
