J. O'Shea, T. Snell Win Chilled Beef Champs.
(Special Reporter) KAWAKAWA, This Day. CATTLE exhibitors at the Waiotira Show learned from Mr C. H. Knecbone yesterday at the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Co. Ltd’s works at Moerewa how beef is judged on the hooks. The results of the North Auckland Chiller Beef Championships were: , Lightweight: No. 2, J. O’Shea, 82 points, 1; No. 23, C. Wells, 71 points, 2; No. 27, E. A. Cliff, G 6 points, 3; No. 20, H. Dingle and Son, 63 points, 4. Heavyweight: No. 2, T. A. Snell, 70 points, 1;*No. 14, T. A. Snell, 60 points, 2; No. 7, T. A. Snell, 64 points, 3; No. 6, T. A. Snell, 60 points, 4.
QUALITY AT WAIOTIRA Considering the carcases he had scon, that had been awarded places at the Waiotira Show, Mr Kneebone said he thought the judging on the hoof had been very good. One or two of the place bullocks in each section were unlucky to be a few pounds over or under weight; otherwise they certainly would have received awards in their classes. He could not speak 100 highly of both heavy and light classes and thought that bullocks at the coming Waikato show would not touch the first or second bullocks in the Waiotira Show.
