] The statement by Mr J. Newton, as \ reported in Wednesday’s issue of your I paper, would be read with interest by ; both primary and CONFERENCE secondary producSUGGESTED ers. The “plain unvarnished truths” are not very clearly revealed in the report, and that this may be accomplished I would suggest that representatives of primary and secondary industries get together and examine the position, also have a look at the “yard stick” referred to in the report. The Marsden Labour Representation j Committee, which is representative of all sections of industrial workers in this district, would, I believe, welcome the opportunity. “The way by which primary producers could be placed on the same economic plane as other members of the community” could form the basis of a very interesting discussion. This is not to be taken as adverse criticism of the reported statements, j but as an honest attempt to arrive at a mutual understanding, j “What about it,. Mr Newton ? A. J. MAGEE.
