Trading Banks Deposits Record

(Special) WELLINGTON, This Day. Total deposits with the six New Zealand trading banks, for the sixth successive month, have reached a record level. An increase of £2,101,595 over the November total brought the aggregate at the end of December to £) 58.948,315, which is over £17,000,000 higher than the figure for December, 1945. The entire increase in December last occurred in free deposits, fixed deposits falling to the slight extent of about £llOO. Other main changes were a rise of £1.915,097 in advances to £66,202,727 and an expansion in note circulation • of £2.705,013 to £41,760,646.
