Hinemoa Due On Sunday
(Special) WELLINGTON. This Day. The new mterisland ferry steamer Hinemoa is due at Wellington on Sunday. Captain F. W. Collins is in command He was formerly in command of the Rangatira and before that the Maunganui. Among the passengers is Sir Harry Twyford. who was Lord Mayor of London in 1987 and 1938. A New Zealand authoress, Miss N. E. Coad, is returning in the ship after having been in Britain for the last six years. Mrs J. Forbes, matron of the Tirr.aru Bovs' School, who has been visiting relatives in England for the last nine months, is returning in the ship. Dr Garland, who will lake .up the post of industrial hygienist to the Health Department at Wellington, is also a passenger. He has been principal assistant medical officer to the Middlesex County Council. He is ac--empanied by his wife and five .children. Alter being away since 1937, the New Zealand novelist, Miss Rosemary Rees, is on her sixth voyage back to the Dominion. She has written 18 novels and one travel book. She will probably stay about a year in New Zealand, spending most of her time in Gisborne and Auckland. Dr I. Maclean, who is travelling in the vessel, is on a year’s leave from the London University. He is a bacteriologist who has been identified with penicillin research from its start. While' in New Zealand he will visit a number of laboratories.
