MCC Team To Play Here

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. The MCC cricket team will tour New Zealand after the conclusion /of the fifth test match it} Sydney and will play four three-day matches in the Dominion.

This was • announced yesterday by Mr E. E. Luttrell. secretary of the New Zealand Cricket Council.

The manager of the English team (Major R. Howard) has advised the council that he has approved the programme set out below, which was one of several submitted to him.

The party will consist of Major Howard and 13 of the players at present in Australia.

The itinerary is as follows:—March 10, 11 and 12. v Wellington; March 15. 17 and 18 v Otago;j March 21. 22 and 24. v New Zealand, at Christchurch; March 27. 28 and 29. v Auckland.

It it presumed that the team will travel to New Zealand by air, as the last test, if restriced to six days, will finish on March 6, and the first match in New Zealand will begin four days later.

Fly To England

A limited English team will go to New Zealand at the end of the Australian tour, and the whole team will fly back to England, says Jim Mathers, the Sydney Daily Mirror correspondent.

This will enable the Englishmen to keep faith with New Zealand and it will also enable the Englishmen to get back to England in time for the opening of the county cricket season.
