Makikihi. and. near Willowbridge. ; Traffic is stiil being forced to make ja detour through Waimate to avoid the 1 blockage at Willowbridge. Heavy rain on Thursday and early on Friday morning flooded rivers and (creeks. This morning the Pareora River overflowed its banks on to the main road at Makikihi. There was feet of water in the creek, but traffic was able to use a side bridge, j The Waihao River, near WillowI bridge, also flooded the main road. | effectively blocking traffic, as the I bridge had been washed away by the 1 last flood and had not been replaced.
