(Rec. 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 7. “There is no specific defence against the atom bomb, nor is one likely to be possible," states a pamphlet published by the Atom Scietists’ Association. v - . 1 One of the aims of the association is to publicise problems arising from the release of atomic energy. The pamphlet asserts that one ounce of fissionable material in an atomic explosive could throw millions of tons of rock more than 100 ft into the air.
